Today, Davis Love III was named Team USA’s team captain for the 2016 Ryder Cup, an iconic event in the world of golf that will be held at Minnesota’s Hazeltine National Golf Club. Love then announced Tom Lehman, a Minnesota native, as vice-captain — further highlighting our region’s commitment to the sport.

Tunheim is teaming with the PGA of America as its communications partner for Ryder Cup 2016, so here we share with you why we are especially LOVE-ing today’s news.

It’s a Team Sport

Golf is usually a sport that centers on individual play. Ryder Cup is different in that it celebrates the whole team — United States vs. Europe — as they work together to bring home the win for their respective regions.

Similarly, the Minnesota business community has approached the challenge of winning major sporting events for our region as a cohesive team — each member playing an important role in securing the win for the greater good. Thanks to this teamwork, we have secured a Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four and NHL Stadium Series (among others) on the state’s upcoming calendar of events.

Thanks to this civic pride, the 2016 Ryder Cup in Minnesota is on track to be the largest Ryder Cup event in history!

Mapping the Course

When you’re in the business of connecting the dots for clients — sometimes what happens on the course offers enormous opportunity for greater understanding once the match is done.

Ryder Cup will offer this region a once-in-a-generation, global opportunity to showcase our economy, cultural influence, sporting culture and community to millions of golf fans as they experience this esteemed sporting event.

Tunheim is proud to help further define the Twin Cities as a marquee destination for sports, business and culture to those watching this event from around the world.
