Kris Jensen

Kris has more than a decade of experience as a strategic communications consultant in the public and private sectors. Before joining Tunheim, Kris served as communications director for the Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus and also provided communications support to veterans’ outreach efforts for the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs to help soldiers returning from the battlefield successfully adjust back to civilian life.

Kris specializes in seeing the big picture and understanding how to develop and deploy strategies that leverage clients’ strengths to achieve their objectives — a skill developed by eight years of service in the U.S. military. Trained as a combat engineer, Kris served a combat tour in Iraq in 2003 as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Kris enjoys working with a diverse range of clients including tribal governments like the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, large corporations like Thermo King and Trane, and public affairs clients like the Move MN transportation campaign. Kris also owns a real estate company that specializes in rehabilitating foreclosed homes to provide affordable rental options for families.

When he’s not at Tunheim, you’ll find Kris spending time outdoors with his wife and four kids, hunting, fishing or vacationing in Wisconsin Dells, Wisc.

Kris actively participates in marksmanship competitions and says the skills necessary to master the 1,000-yard shot are the same skills needed to provide exceptional client service and counsel.
