Jen Gates

With a passion for pushing projects forward and transforming thoughts into reality, Jen has molded her career to make a difference in the world around her.

Jen’s experience in the public service sector is extensive. Involved with Governor Mark Dayton since his first gubernatorial campaign in 2010, Jen went on to work for the Governor’s Office where she led the efforts to reform and improve public service delivery. She also worked with Lt. Governor Tina Smith to advance her legislative agenda, with a particular focus on the Destination Medical Center project in Rochester, Minn.

In addition, Jen managed statewide initiatives where she built critical relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful plan implementation. Jen’s effective relationships enacted government reform across the executive branch, which spanned multi-agency legislative initiatives that eliminated unnecessary laws and implemented plain language into state government policy.

Because of her experiences with the State of Minnesota, Jen brings to Tunheim strong project management skills, an eagerness to be flexible when approaching new projects, and a fresh perspective to challenges facing our clients.

Jen is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in political science.

Jen has run both Twin Cities and Grandma’s Marathons.
