Lani Jordan
Lani Jordan is Senior Counsel at Tunheim, where she provides experienced, senior-level communications counsel for crisis communication, issues management and organizational change. She brings decades of leadership experience helping organizations tell their stories in good times and bad, with deep expertise in corporate communications, executive messaging, media relations and reputation management.
Lani has advised businesses and organizations across the U.S. and around the world, helping them prepare for and navigate complex issues, rapidly evolving crises, mergers and acquisitions, leadership transitions and major organizational developments. Her crisis communications experience includes work related to COVID-19 response, global food recalls, data breaches, employee crimes, fires and explosions, financial challenges, fatalities, evacuations and environmental incidents.
Before joining Tunheim, Lani held executive-level communications roles at CHS and Cenex, where she led strategic communications for major agriculture, energy and cooperative organizations. At CHS, a Fortune 100 global energy, grains and foods company and the nation’s largest cooperative, she directed corporate communications, crisis response, financial communications, investor relations, executive messaging and communications strategy across hundreds of U.S. and global locations.
Lani is also an accomplished speechwriter, speaker and trainer. She has crafted award-winning speeches, presentations and messages for CEOs, executives and board leaders, and has led crisis communication workshops and media environment training for organizations in the agriculture, energy and cooperative sectors. Earlier in her career, she worked as a news bureau chief, columnist and reporter for United Press International, giving her a journalist’s perspective on how stories are shaped, understood and shared.
Her global experience, steady counsel and ability to understand multiple perspectives help clients communicate with clarity, credibility and confidence when the stakes are high.
Lani serves the American Red Cross Twin Cities chapter as a board member, executive committee member and Outreach Committee chair. She has also shared her extensive experience internationally as a USAID volunteer consultant helping businesses in emerging economies develop strategic communication and marketing plans. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Michigan.
