Jeremy Drucker is a public affairs consultant based in Minneapolis, MN, where he specializes in strategic communications and media and government relations. He has worked in politics and government in New York City and Minnesota for nearly 15 years, including senior positions with (now) Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, the Minnesota Democratic Party, and former Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, where he served as a senior health care official for the state’s Medicaid program and the state’s health insurance exchange. In 2014 he served as Communications Director for Governor Dayton’s reelection.
Jeremy works primarily with governments and nonprofits to help them achieve their public policy goals. Since 2018 he has worked for Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s administration helping the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) pass their legislative agenda and navigate a leadership transition, assisting the Governor’s Children’s Cabinet in launching their agenda, and providing strategic leadership in the Governor’s Office in the early days of the pandemic. He recently assisted Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office with communications during the Chauvin trial. Among his current projects are working to protect Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Wilderness and several state-wide climate initiatives, including Minnesota’s Clean Car Initiative.
Prior to embarking on a career in Public Affairs Jeremy trained to be an English Literature Professor in New York City where his academic work focused on the intersection of political, aesthetic and ethical issues. He received his Master’s degree at the City University of New York (CUNY) and completed his doctoral coursework while teaching English Literature at Hunter College. He is currently the board chair of Minnesota Recovery Connection, a non-profit helping Minnesotans achieve and sustain long-term recovery from substance use disorder, and sits on the Board of Trustees of Mounds Park Academy, a social justice oriented K-12 school in St. Paul, MN.
