Archelle Georgiou, M.D.

Archelle’s expertise is understanding the complexity of the healthcare system. Having spent five years as a practicing physician, 14 years as a senior executive and chief medical officer of UnitedHealth Group, and the last seven years in healthcare news and the media, Archelle’s broad base of career responsibilities naturally let her look at health through the eyes of doctors, patients, insurance companies, policy-makers and consumers.

Archelle uses this kaleidoscopic perspective to help forward-thinking companies ignite the change they need for meaningful adoption of their solutions. She has worked with a diverse group of clients that range from the Copper Development Association to Medtronic to Newt Gingrich’s Center for Health Transformation. As an advisor to TripleTree, an investment banking firm, and Sterling Partners, a $5 billion dollar private equity fund, she stays on the forefront of technology and innovation in healthcare.

Each week, Archelle has a weekly health segment on KSTP-TV, the ABC affiliate in Minnesota. She also produces and hosts a monthly 30-minute health special. Archelle is an executive in residence at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management, where she teaches anatomy and physiology to MBA students. Since 2010, Dr. Georgiou has served on the board of directors of PRGX, a publicly traded recovery audit firm.

Archelle graduated from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine. Archelle loves to entertain and stays connected to her Greek heritage by cooking Mediterranean style foods.

Archelle is looking forward to a day when she has the courage sing karaoke.
